Duo Sonidos
Celebrating 14 years together, Duo Sonidos has won over classical music audiences as a fresh addition to established concert series internationally.
These brilliant young men released their debut CD to critical acclaim from such esteemed magazines as American Record Guide, Classical Guitar Magazine, Music Web International, Fanfare Magazine and BBC Music Magazine. Julian Haylock of BBC Music Magazine describes Duo Sonidos’ playing as having a “loose-limbed, easy virtuoso ‘cool’ and beguiling tonal warmth that combines laid back intuitiveness with classical sophistication… stunning performances from Duo Sonidos.” They will record the entire violin and guitar catalog of guitarist and arranger, Gregg Nestor. In February 2019, the duo released volume one, “Wild Dance” of Nestor’s arrangements on the Naxos Label, which reached #3 on the Traditional Classical Billboard Chart. Classical Guitar Magazine called Duo Sonidos a “brilliant and exciting violin and guitar pairing.” Volume two is slated for recording in early 2021.
