Overview of ACMC Internships
In keeping with our mission to educate the next generation of music enthusiasts, the Austin Chamber Music Center is proud to offer internship opportunities for college-age students looking to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field.
Start and end dates will depend on the internship you are applying for.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for an internship without regard to race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, citizenship, or any other protected status.
At this time, ACMC does not have funding to support paid internship positions. In most cases, college credit is available.
Unpaid Fall & Spring Internships available

We are seeking an intern to help with marketing and social media throughout our concert season. Duties include contributing to social media pages, organizing press clippings, and posting calendar listings, with other duties to be assigned as needed. Ideal intern will work 2 to 6 hours a week for 12 to 16 weeks, with the possibility of continuing into the next semester; flexible scheduling. Must be available for a majority of ACMC concerts. Experience with all social media platforms and reliable transportation is a must; arts experience and a Mac laptop is preferred. Potential candidates should be excited about the organization, independent workers, and willing to try something new.

Marketing / Social Media / Operations Internships – For Summer Festival

We are looking for 1-2 interns to help with box office, ticketing, marketing, and social media. Interns will work closely with ACMC staff to help manage box office operations, implement marketing strategies (including social media) mainly for our festival. You’ll gain experience in everything from content distribution, street team marketing, sales strategies, social media management, ticket management, and box office operations. Potential candidates should be outgoing, detail oriented, a self starter, and feel comfortable working with little supervision. Must be comfortable in a mac environment, indesign and illustrator a plus but not necessary. Must have reliable transportation. If you have specific learning goals in mind we will work with you to help you achieve those goals. This is an unpaid internship and would start in May and run through August.

FALL & SPRING INTERNS…
will actively be involved in organizing all education programs – Young Artists & Adult Academy, ChamberFlex, School Concerts, In-School Programs, nationwide Coltman Competition, Summer Workshop, and outreach performances & activities. Interns will attend placement auditions, participate in the grouping process and selecting music, prepare schedules & materials for students and faculty, coordinate outreach performances & student activities, attend concerts, and see how each program runs first hand. Interns will also attend and help at our Synchronism and Intimate Concerts (professional concert series) as well as attend an ACMC board meeting. Education internships are geared towards interns seeing the full non-profit experience and will work with all departments in the ACMC office.
The Fall Internship will start at beginning of September and go through the middle of December. The Spring Internship will start in late January and go through May. Fall/Spring interns must have reliable transportation. Undergraduate, masters and doctoral students within the music performance, music education and arts administration fields are encouraged to apply.
