We are the Mühlford Clarinet Quintet, formed in McKinney, Texas through our shared experience in the Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra – Young Artist program. As a self-coached ensemble, we dedicate time beyond our primary musical commitments to grow together. Chamber music allows us to build critical listening skills and learn to clearly articulate individualism within a combined ensemble. We named our ensemble giving credit to Richard Mühlford, the German clarinetist who inspired Brahms to write for the clarinet. Our members have earned recognition at regional, state, and even international levels, reflecting both dedication and musicianship.
