Formed in Fall 2025 and mentored by Ara Gregorian at the New England Conservatory, the Auréya Quartet takes its name from a word meaning golden and warmth, a quality the ensemble embraces in their playing. A winner of the 2025 NEC Honors Ensemble Competition, the quartet holds residencies with the Virginia Arts Festival and L’Atelier Musical, and has upcoming concert engagements at venues including Jordan Hall and Brookhaven at Lexington. Auréya has collaborated with composers including Ethan Iverson and Carlos Simon, and has also played in masterclasses for distinguished musicians such as Laurie Smukler and Kim Kashkashian.
