Born in Huanuco-Peru, Alvaro Miranda is pursuing his Master’s degree at The University of Texas at Austin studying under Bion Tsang. Miranda started his cello studies at the age of fourteen at his home city’s youth symphony orchestra. At the age of eighteen Miranda was accepted at the National Conservatory of Peru in the preparatory section where he studied with Sammanda Siguenas. Miranda received his Bachelor’s degree in music performance from The University of Southern Mississippi under Alexander Russakovsky. Miranda has played with the National Conservatory of Peru Symphony Orchestra, International Opera Festival Alejandro Granda Symphony Orchestra, Musical Association Romanza Orchestra, Meridian Symphony Orchestra, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, and the University of Southern Mississippi Symphony Orchestra.
