In keeping with our mission to educate the next generation of music enthusiasts, the Austin Chamber Music Center is proud to offer internship opportunities for college-age students looking to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field.
ACMC SUMMER 2013 INTERNSHIPS

At this time, ACMC does not have funding to support paid internship positions. In most cases, college credit is available.
Development & Special Events Interns

A perfect internship for those interested in exploring the different areas associated with arts management (fundraising, communications and event management). Responsibilities include donor database management, assisting with planning and executing events like Gala 2013 – A Midsummer Night’s Music”, Friends of the Festival Reception, Outreach Concerts & Festival Concerts, board meeting preparation, volunteer management, and some writing and editing.
With the development & special events associate, you will develop a list of learning objectives and goals that you would like to accomplish correlating to your responsibilities. There are three options for this internship: Spring, Summer and Fall. The Spring Internship will start in late January and go through May. The summer internship will start May 2013 and end August 2013.

Marketing / Social Media / Operations Interns

We are looking for 2-3 interns to help with marketing, pr, and social media. Interns will work closely with Director of Operations to implement marketing and pr strategies (including social media) mainly for our festival and gala. You’ll gain experience in everything from pr, content distribution, street team marketing, sales strategies, social media management, ticket management, and operations. Potential candidates should be outgoing, detail oriented, and feel comfortable working remotely on some occasions and with little supervision. If you have specific learning goals in mind we will work with you to help you achieve those goals. This is an unpaid internship and would start May and run through the August.

Education Interns
2013 Summer Workshop Internship
Deadline to submit cover letter & resume: April 1, 2013
Assist the Director of Education in organizing logistics for the Summer Workshop. Attend auditions, observe the grouping process, assist with selecting music, prepare schedules & materials for students and faculty, coordinate outreach performances & student activities, manage student concerts & parent volunteers and be on-site to see first hand how the action unfolds.
A music background is required (working towards bachelors, masters or doctorate in music performance or education) and chamber music experience is helpful but not required. Qualified interns will get an opportunity to coach chamber ensembles. The summer internship will start May 2013 and end August 2013.
