Rebekah Blackner

Rebekah Blackner

Rebekah Blackner is a professional violinist based in Austin, Texas. She has performed with musical ensembles across Texas, including the Austin Opera, the Texas Baroque Ensemble, and the San Antonio Symphony, among others. An active freelance musician and studio recording artist, Rebekah has shared the stage with performing artists including Joshua Bell, Andres Cardenes, Joseph Kalichstein, Donny Osmond, Kansas, Byron Stripling, Peter Cetera, and Josh Groban.

Rebekah earned a Bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Utah, both in Violin Performance. She has received training from exceptional teachers and coaches who have helped her to develop a skillset that continues to open doors to unforgettable opportunities and experiences. Some of Rebekah’s influential teachers and coaches have included William Fedkenheuer, Kathleen Winkler, Kenneth Goldsmith, Mark Steinberg, Jessica Guideri, Kim Kashkashian, Daniel Philips, Won-Bin Yim, Robert McDonald, and Colin Carr.

Rebekah’s love of music and of the violin has opened up the world to her. She has performed at the Aspen Music Festival and School in Aspen, Colorado; the Beijing International Music Festival in Shanghai, China; The Round Top Festival Institute in Round Top, Texas; the Eutiner Festpiele in Eutin, Germany; the Deer Valley Music Festival in Deer Valley, Utah; the Music Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Falls Village, Connecticut, and was a selected artist to participate in the Chamber Music Residency at The Banff Centre in Banff, Canada.

Rebekah discovered early on that when you are around exceptional people, you want to be like them. It’s no surprise that teaching and performing have become her life’s joy. When Rebekah isn’t teaching or performing, she loves checking out Austin area restaurants, boutique shopping, and regular visits to Mt. Bonnell.
