REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED
Young Artists Division Residential program runs from JULY 7 – 21, 2019
About the Young Artists Division Residential:
The Young Artists Division Residential adds an overnight component (24/7) to the commuter option where students will stay on the UT campus in the dorms.
The residential option is open to high school musicians ages 14 – 18 with advanced proficiency. Students will work with amazing workshop faculty and visiting guest artists, perform in masterclasses, attend presentations from artists visiting from all around the world, and as a team, residential students will embark in activities specialized just for them.
During the weekday students will be mixed in with the Young Artists Division Commuter activities. The rest of the day (evenings and weekends) residential students will have scheduled music and non-music activities on and near campus. Students will meet other musicians from all around Texas and possibly the country!
NOTE BEFORE ENROLLING:
ALL Young Artists Division Residential students are REQUIRED to stay on campus, attend ALL days of the workshop, and attend all group activities from check-in to check-out to participate. NO EXCEPTIONS.
All instrumentalists are accepted and welcome in the program (string, woodwind, brass, guitar, piano, harp); however, this option is reserved for advanced students ages 14 – 18 only.
There will be a limited number of spots for the residential option. Once capacity is reached a waiting list will be made.

Placement Audition Video
Placement auditions are for chamber ensemble placement. Once the online registration and tuition is taken care of students have secured their place in the workshop. In order to place students into the right ensembles, we need to hear them!
Young Artists Residential musicians must submit a youtube video link of the below audition materials by Wednesday, May 8. All video links should be emailed to email@example.com. Subject line should read: ACMC Residential Video for (insert student name).
Students should prepare 2 contrasting solos/etudes of their choice (1 slow and musical / 1 faster and technical). Portions of piece, movement or etude are fine. Both selections should be between 3-5 minutes in length. Students should also play two major scales (of their choice), two octaves each.
Students that play two instruments:
Students may submit an audition video on 2 instruments (they are placed in 2 chamber ensembles during the workshop). Students will be required to prepare all audition materials on both instruments. When registering put down both instruments and other information that is asked.
