About the Position

Salary Range: $50,000–55,000 annually
Reports to: Managing Director

Austin Chamber Music Center (ACMC) is seeking a proactive and creative Program Manager to join our dynamic team and drive the success of our educational programs, professional performances, and community engagement initiatives. This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and excels at managing multiple projects while remaining adaptable to the needs of the organization. The Program Manager will play an essential part in shaping the future of ACMC’s offerings, ensuring high-quality experiences for all involved.

Key Focus Areas

In this role, you will manage and support a diverse range of initiatives, ensuring smooth operations and successful outcomes in education, production, and community building. You will collaborate with staff, faculty, and community partners to plan, execute, and evaluate ACMC’s educational programs. Your project management skills will be critical in driving these programs forward while maintaining flexibility and creativity to meet evolving needs.

Education

You will be responsible for the effective coordination of education programs, including supporting auditions, ensemble groupings, and event planning for initiatives such as the School Concert Tour and the Coltman Chamber Music Competition. You’ll apply your project management expertise to ensure seamless coordination between schools, music directors, and artists, handling logistics such as scheduling, music selection, and budget tracking. Your collaborative nature will shine as you work alongside the Artistic Director to create impactful educational experiences for students and the community.

Production and Events

As a key member of the production team, you will assist with the planning and execution of professional concerts, including the Austin Chamber Music Festival and special events like the Charlie Brown Christmas Concert. You will take ownership of various logistical tasks, such as coordinating artist schedules, managing venue requirements, and overseeing production staff. Your creative problem-solving skills will help ensure that all technical and logistical aspects of each event are handled with precision and flexibility, from stage management to artist accommodations.

Community Engagement

In this role, you will be a primary liaison between ACMC and the community, building and nurturing relationships with schools, partners, and local stakeholders to further ACMC’s mission. You will be responsible for fostering partnerships that expand ACMC’s reach, organizing community events, and connecting with local organizations to enhance our cultural impact. Your ability to engage effectively with a diverse array of partners and audiences will help strengthen ACMC’s presence in the community and ensure that our programs reach those who will benefit most.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with strong project management skills who thrives in a collaborative, creative environment. The ideal candidate will bring a flexible, adaptable mindset and the ability to juggle multiple projects with ease, ensuring each is completed on time and within scope. You will be comfortable leading projects and supporting team members, always keeping an eye on the big picture while addressing the small details. A background in arts administration, event coordination, or music education is preferred, but we value creativity and a passion for music and community engagement above all else.

Schedule & Benefits

Hybrid Work Schedule: Flexibility to work from home and in the office, located at 7600 Burnet Rd.
Nights and Weekend Work: Availability required for events, including evenings and weekends.
Paid Time Off: Six weeks of paid time off, including:

  • Three weeks of flexible paid time off.
  • Three weeks of institutional paid time off (Thanksgiving week, post-Festival/Workshop, winter holiday).

Closed on Federal Holidays: ACMC is closed on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day

Retirement: SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with ACMC matching up to 3% of employee contributions.
Health Insurance: Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO plan fully covered by ACMC, with only a mandatory $3/month employee deduction.
Dental/Vision Insurance: Fully covered by ACMC.
