Considered by many as a prime pioneer in the innovation of music and sound, Cage turned classical composition on its ear with his unique style.

PROGRAM
Music for Two Prepared Pianos | John Cage (1912-1992)
For one night, Schumann and McElhaney will perform a pair of pianos, which will be doctored up with various objects including screws, bolts, rubber, wood, weather stripping, pencil erasers, and pennies; all placed in between the strings of the piano. The result? Two miraculous 10 fingered percussion ensembles with a bevy of bells, whistles, clinks, and thuds, sure to delight.
