Scholarships
Merit Scholarship Ensembles
Scholarships are awarded each year, based on merit as demonstrated in the fall auditions. Students selected for these scholarships will be placed in advanced chamber ensembles in the Academy and serve as ACMC ambassadors at Intimate Concerts, community events, receptions, and other events throughout the year. Applicants for all scholarship positions are auditioned each fall and are required to commit to both the Fall & Spring semesters of the Young Artists Academy. Scholarship positions will be re-auditioned each year. Each scholarship winner will be assessed a $120 administration fee for the year.
All instrumentalists are open to audition for these merit ensembles. Chamber ensembles will be determined after all auditions are heard. For example, if an advanced cellist, clarinetist and pianist audition and are selected for one of these scholarships they could be placed together to form one of these ensembles.
Other Scholarships Available
Intact chamber music ensembles made up of school-aged students are eligible to audition as a group for a performance scholarship. Any type of ensemble (e.g., string quartet, woodwind quintet, brass quintet, guitar ensemble) is welcome to audition. The ensemble will perform one short piece or movement as an ensemble and will also be required to audition individually.
All-Region and/or All-State Orchestra, Band, or Choir students are entitled to partial scholarships for the first semester they enroll in the academy.
Limited merit based and financially based scholarships also available. Please contact the Director of Education for a need-based scholarship application. No applications will be accepted after August 24, 2011.
All scholarship students must sign a contract outlining attendance and performance commitments.
All scholarship auditions will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2011. Please contact the Director of Education to set up a time before August 24.
