Scholarships
ACMC offers merit and financially based scholarships throughout the year. Our goal is to offer all students the opportunity to participate in our programs regardless of the financial background.
Young Artists Academy Merit Scholarship Ensembles
Scholarships are awarded each year, based on merit as demonstrated in the fall auditions. Students selected for these scholarships will be placed within advanced chamber ensembles in the Academy and serve as ACMC ambassadors at Synchronism concerts, community events, receptions, and other events throughout the year. Applicants for all scholarship positions are auditioned each fall and are required to commit to both the Fall & Spring semesters of the Young Artists Academy. Scholarship positions will be re-auditioned each year. Each scholarship winner will be assessed a $120 administration fee for the year.
All instrumentalists are welcome to audition for these merit ensembles. Chamber ensembles will be determined after all auditions have been heard.
2012-2013 Merit Scholarship Ensembles
- Saskia Gregg, violin – Mattie Brister, cello – Christopher Henselman, piano
- Catherine Kellogg, flute – Jacob Walthall, cello – Yoonji Ahn, piano
Merit Scholarships
Intact chamber music ensembles made up of school-aged students are eligible to audition as a group for a performance scholarship. Any type of ensemble (e.g., string quartet, woodwind quintet, brass quintet, guitar ensemble) is welcome to audition. The ensemble will perform one short piece or movement as an ensemble and will also be required to audition individually.
All-Region and/or All-State Orchestra, Band, or Choir students are entitled to partial scholarships for the first semester they enroll in the academy. Please contact ACMC’s Director of Education before enrolling so they can apply the scholarship to your tuition before paying.
Financially Based Scholarships
Limited financially based scholarships are available to those in need.
Please contact the Director of Education for a financially based scholarship application.
