William Schleuse
During a 40-year career practicing Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis in Houston and Austin, Dr. Schleuse served as President of several professional organizations and a hospital staff, was Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Baylor School of Medicine and Teaching Analyst at the Houston/Galveston Psychoanalytic Institute.
Retired from professional practice, he is currently active in the UT Forum, Austin Fine Art Photographers, the Houston Yacht Club and the Austin alumni chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Other non-professional interests have included sailing, boating, flying and photography. Music and visual arts have been important to him for many years.
His sons are all involved with music, one on the music faculty at SUNY Binghamton teaching historical musicology, one as a singer, actor and dramaturg in Atlanta and one on the development staff of Houston Grand Opera.
