Rebecca Chen has been playing piano since the age of nine. Since then, she has participated in numerous competitions and festivals. Her memorable experiences include performing with both the Austin Symphony Orchestra and the Austin Civic Orchestra, and performing in Carnegie Hall as a part of a winners’ recital. In addition, she has won a variety of awards in both concerto and solo competitions, including the Janet Russell Memorial Scholarship Award, Second Place in the Baylor/Waco Piano Competition, First Place in the ADMTA Solo Contest, First Place in the Wilcox Contest and recipient of the Sally Strawn Rudd Supplemental Award. In the future Rebecca plans to further her love for music through participating in summer piano programs and master classes. Rebecca studies with Matthew McLaughlin.
