Violinist Molly Emerman is Assistant Concertmaster of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and a violinist with the Artosphere Festival Orchestra and Austin Lyric Opera. As an orchestral musician she has performed under conductors such as Pierre Boulez, Fabio Luisi, and Krzysztof Urbański with the Malaysian Philharmonic, the Lucerne Festival (Switzerland), the Charleston Symphony, and the Opera Company of Philadelphia, among others. As a chamber musician and soloist she is a winner of the Young Alaskan Artist Award and has performed in recital in Brazil, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, and throughout the US. Molly previously worked as a Teaching Artist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and she now is on faculty at Austin Community College and maintains a private violin studio. She received her BM from Northwestern University and her MM from Rice University; her principal teachers were Roland and Almita Vamos, Julia Bushkova, and Kathleen Winkler.
