First worked on newspapers at the age of 13 in high school. Worked some summers in high school as a stringer for the Springfield Daily News.
Worked on the college newspaper, “Round Up,” at New Mexico State
University during freshman year. Named Editor of the “Round Up” as a
sophomore and served in that position for two years. Worked for the
Springfield (MA) Daily News in summer of 1970.
