Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Heather Kennedy started playing the violin at the age of 8 and quickly joined the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program, which had a profound influence on her life. She is thrilled to join the board of ACMC because she believes strongly in the benefits music can have on children and the community. Heather not only loves music, but also food! She currently works at Whole Foods Market where she manages the Local Producer Loan Program, which provides low interest loans to small local food producers across the country. She also served as the National Marketing Director at Whole Foods and before that worked for the non-profit Feeding America, which is a hunger relief organization in Chicago. Heather received her MBA from McCombs in 1999 and returned to McCombs in 2008 as an adjunct lecturer, teaching courses in Brand Management and Corporate Social Responsibility. She’s currently an adjunct lecturer at St. Edwards University in the Digital MBA Program. She loves to travel and recently took a nine-month sabbatical so she could eat her way around the world! Heather switched to viola in college and currently plays with a variety of groups around Austin.
