Hailey Walterman

Violist Hailey Walterman holds degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and Azusa Pacific University. Currently she is pursuing her Doctoral degree as the teaching assistant of Roger Myers at the University of Texas at Austin. She has participated in various masterclasses with the Takaćs, Tokyo, and Miró Quartets, along with accomplished violinists Vijay Gupta, Ingrid Chun, Lorenz Gamma, and Laurie Smukler. As a chamber musician, Walterman has shared the stage with the acclaimed Midori Goto and the Jerusalem Quartet. Her festival appearances include the Montecito International Music Festival, the Next Festival of Emerging Young Artists, and Mastereorks Festival in Zhengzhou, China. In addition to performing, Walterman has an immense passion for teaching and holds teaching positions at the University of Texas at Austin String Project and Austin Chamber Music Center in addition to her own private studio. Without her viola in hand, Hailey is a certified yoga instructor and loves to practice yoga and cook for her friends.
