Corey Rom
In-School Faculty
Corey Rom is a graduate of the University of Colorado in Boulder, where he studied with Mike Allen (Boulder Brass) and earned a Bachelor of Music in tuba performance. He also studied with Jim Thornton (former “Pres. Own” Marine Band Euphonium Soloist) and world renowned tubist, Sam Pilafian (Empire Brass, Travelin’ Light).
Mr. Rom has toured with The King’s Brass for over 2 years. During that time, Corey performed in over 30 states and the Virgin Islands. Prior to his time with The King’s Brass, Mr. Rom played with the Central City Opera Company, in Central City, Colorado, The Colorado Ballet, Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, and the tuba quartet called Eu-Tu.
Currently, Mr. Rom is pursuing a DMA in tuba performance at the University of Texas at Austin and is studying with Professor Charles Villarrubia. When Corey is not playing or teaching, he likes to spend time with his wife Rhonda and daughter Elise.
