Assistant Director of Education & Production
Aurel Garza-Tucker is a recent graduate of The Florida State University where she earned her Master of Music in Bassoon Performance with Jeff Keesecker. Recently, she helped found the Florida State University Bassoon Trio with two other graduate bassoonists. The trio focused on bringing chamber music to the Tallahassee community by playing classical and popular music arranged by Aurel in unique local venues.
Prior to attending The Florida State University, Aurel received her Bachelor of Music in Bassoon Performance from Louisiana State University, where she studied with Gabriel Beavers. While there, Aurel participated in two Bassoon Quartets, Bocal Point and BassonRouge, giving her the opportunity to explore arranging music for chamber ensembles. Aurel is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and was Editor, Historian, and Publications Chair of the Sigma Phi Chapter.
Through her experience and duties in Sigma Alpha Iota, as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, and as a Student Worker in Louisiana State University’s Music Marketing Office, Aurel found her true passion for arts administration. While she thoroughly enjoys being a musician and playing the bassoon, she is happiest when using her organizational and planning skills to bring the powers of music to audiences. Aurel looks forward to continuing to perform while fostering her career in Arts Administration with Austin Chamber Music Center!
